The Roland Picza PIX-4 & 30 3D scanner products brings high resolution 3D scanning technology to industry and home users. 3D scanners are used to duplicate a real 3D object into an accurate 3D computer model.
Easy-to-use and compatible with many popular 3D CAD software programs, theRoland Picza PIX-4/30 is an affordable desktop 3D scanner. It is perfect for a variety of product design tasks. Designers, artists, jewellers and students will find it a major time saver compared to traditional hand measuring or parts.
The Roland Picza PIX-4/30 is the lowest priced 3D scanner on the market, yet provides a level of detail found normally on expensive industrial laser scanners.
Applications
3D scanning of objects such as medallions, reliefs, sculptures, prototypes, jewellery, flora and food are ideal for the Picza PIX-4/30. Users can import the data for animation, visualisation, forensics, quality assurance and manufacturing parts.
3D scanning has been proven over many years to reduce project times and improve quality
Easy to Use
Simple step by step instructions are included along with software to set scan options. The supplied software is so easy to use that even school students are using Roland's Picza PIX-4/30 scanners. The scanner just plugs into your computer just like a normal paper printer.
Because the scanner is automated, once the scan starts you can walk away. Unlike other expensive scanning systems, the Roland range of scanners do not rely on the user's skill level and experience to be able to produce good scans. You can even keep using your computer for other tasks while the PIX scans in the background.
The scanner uses a touch sensitive needle which automatically senses the surface of an object. It is very sensitive, so much so that fruit and aluminium foil have been scanned. When the Roland Picza PIX-4/30 is not scanning, the needle retracts into the main body of the Picza
Value
The Roland Picza PIX-4/30 comes complete with software to scan objects. The supplied software exports to most 3D computer programs and even exports NURBS surfaces, a feature that currently exists only in very expensive and specialised software. All you need to supply is a home computer. Ideally, you should have a 3D computer modeling program to import scan files into. The level of detail that can be scanned by the PIX-4/30 series scanners is unmatched for its price range.
